Garden Gold Organics was founded by Jason Jeffers and is built on more than three decades of practical experience in sustainable horticulture. The company’s work is guided by a clear principle: long-term plant health starts with healthy soil, efficient nutrient use, and formulations that respect both plants and the environment.
The development of Garden Gold began with a critical assessment of conventional fertilisers commonly available in the market. Many rely on vinasse with elevated salt levels or animal by-products that can negatively affect soil structure, attract pests, or create odour and handling issues. These limitations led to the decision to develop a fully plant-based alternative focused on performance, consistency, and sustainability.
Since 2018, Garden Gold Organics has specialised in the development of liquid fertiliser formulations based on plant biology and agronomic research. Over a seven-year development period, the formulations were refined to achieve a balanced nutrient profile that supports efficient uptake, reduces nutrient loss, and promotes resilient plant growth.
The formulations combine concentrated plant extracts, seaweed extract, amino acids, and humic and fulvic acids, which function as natural chelating agents to improve nutrient availability and retention in the root zone.
All base formulations contain a minimum of 10% seaweed extract and 12% amino acids, supplemented with silicon dioxide to support plant structure and betaine to enhance tolerance to environmental stress. Building on this platform, a specialised seaweed-based booster formulation was developed for situations requiring additional physiological support, including applications for leafy crops, lawns, and intensively managed green areas.
Garden Gold Organics approaches fertilisation as part of a broader soil-health system. Organic matter input, such as compost, forms the foundation, while liquid formulations are designed to complement this system through precise, water-efficient application. Foliar use is supported where appropriate to improve uptake efficiency and reduce overall input volumes.
For applications requiring additional stress resistance and physiological support, this approach can be complemented with Sea-Prime, a concentrated seaweed-based formulation developed for demanding growth conditions.
