Garden Gold Organics was founded by Jason Jeffers from more than 30 years of experience in organic gardening. Not from a marketing idea, but from a practical frustration: many organic liquid fertilisers are less thoughtfully formulated than they appear.
Many products rely on cheap by-products, high salt levels, vinasse or animal-derived ingredients. They are sold as “natural”, but they are not always friendly to roots, soil life, odour, storage or long-term soil health. Garden Gold was developed to do things differently.
Why Garden Gold exists
Garden Gold began with a simple question: can organic plant nutrition be formulated in a cleaner, smarter and more consistent way?
Instead of competing with yet another standard liquid fertiliser, Garden Gold was developed from a different starting point: nutrition should not only provide NPK, but also fit within a healthy soil system. That means efficient nutrient use, low salt load, support for the root zone and formulas that work in real gardens, pots and vegetable beds.
That is why Garden Gold does not use vinasse or animal-derived ingredients. The formulas are fully plant-based, low in sodium and developed for gardeners who look beyond “green and fast”.
Seven years of development
Since 2018, Garden Gold Organics has specialised in the development of liquid fertiliser formulas based on plant biology, practical experience and agronomic research.
Over a seven-year development period, the formulas were refined into balanced nutrient profiles for different applications: houseplants, garden and vegetable beds, tomatoes and chile peppers, and additional support with seaweed extract.
The base formulas combine concentrated plant extracts, seaweed extract, amino acids and humic and fulvic acids. These ingredients support nutrient availability in the root zone and help plants take up nutrition efficiently.
All base formulas contain at least 10% seaweed extract and 12% amino acids, supplemented with silicon dioxide to support plant structure and betaine as a natural component that can help plants cope with environmental stress.
For applications where additional support is desired, such as intensive growth, recovery, foliar application or stressful conditions, Garden Gold developed Sea-Prime: a concentrated seaweed formula with 24% seaweed extract and 20% amino acids.
Nutrition as part of a soil system
Garden Gold does not see fertilising as a standalone trick, but as part of a broader system. Compost, organic matter and living soil form the foundation. Liquid nutrition is intended as a targeted supplement: precisely when plants need extra support during active growth, flowering, fruiting or recovery.
That is why the formulas are concentrated, water-soluble and easy to dose. They can be applied directly to the root zone and, where appropriate, combined with foliar application to further support uptake efficiency.
Developed in real gardens
Garden Gold formulas have been developed and refined over many years in real growing situations: from potted plants and vegetable beds to ornamental gardens and long-term soil cultivation.
That practice-based starting point remains important. Every formula must not only make sense based on ingredients and analysis values, but also work reliably for people who take their plants, garden or vegetable beds seriously.
The goal is not to push plants into short-term growth, but to support strong roots, healthy growth and resilient plants throughout the growing season.
