FAQ
These are the most frequently asked questions for GARDEN GOLD ORGANICS products →
What is organic fertiliser?
Organic fertiliser supplies plants with nutrients from organic materials, such as plant extracts, amino acids and seaweed. Some products, including Garden Gold, also contain carefully selected minerals and trace elements to provide broader nutrition during the growing season.
What is the difference between plant food and fertiliser?
The terms are often used interchangeably. “Plant food” is a consumer-friendly term for products that supply nutrients to plants, while “fertiliser” is the more technical term. Both describe products designed to support plant nutrition, growth and development.
Is liquid fertiliser better than granular fertiliser?
Not necessarily. Liquid fertiliser is easy to measure, dilute with water and apply directly around the root zone, making it suitable for regular, targeted feeding. Granular fertilisers may release nutrients more slowly and can be useful when longer-lasting feeding is preferred. The best choice depends on the plant, growing conditions and how you prefer to feed.
Which Garden Gold organic fertiliser should I choose?
Choose Houseplant Formula for green, flowering and tropical indoor plants. Use Garden Formula for flowers, vegetables, herbs, borders, pots and general garden use. Choose Tomato & Chile Formula for tomatoes, chiles, peppers and other heavy feeders. Use Sea-Prime as an additional seaweed booster alongside your regular base fertiliser.
Can I use organic fertiliser on indoor plants?
Yes. Garden Gold Houseplant Formula is developed for indoor plants growing in potting soil, including green, flowering and tropical houseplants. Mix it with water and apply it around the roots during the active growing period.
How often should I use liquid organic fertiliser?
During active growth, Garden Gold base fertilisers are generally used once every 1–2 weeks. Feed less often during winter or periods of slower growth. The correct frequency and dosage depend on the season, plant size, growth stage and nutritional needs, so always follow the instructions for the specific formula.
Is Garden Gold suitable for organic cultivation?
Yes. Garden Gold products are suitable for organic cultivation, listed in the European Input List and included in the FiBL Input List Germany. They also conform to the relevant standards for biodynamic cultivation under Demeter.
Can Garden Gold fertilisers be used in hydroponics?
No. Garden Gold organic fertilisers are intended for plants growing in soil or potting mix. They are not suitable for hydroponic systems, hydroculture or clay pebbles used as the sole growing medium.
